October’s walk will be the last one before the clocks go back, so we thought that we would walk the Cooley mountains in Carlingford. We haven’t walked this for a long time so it will be nice to get reacquainted with this lovely part of the country again.
As many of you know, there is a slightly muddy patch on this route so it would be a bit mucky underfoot if there is a lot of rainfall preceding our walk. With this in mind, we have a standby walk, Slieve Gullion, which we can walk if the preceding days are very wet. We can make that call by the Thursday or Friday before the walk.
Both hills are in the same geographic area so the usual rules regarding lifts / car sharing apply
Meet-up:- the main car park in Carlingford at 10.30
