July walk: Carlingford, Sunday 7th July 24…

For July’s walk, we thought that we would walk the Cooley mountains in Carlingford. We haven’t walked this for a long time so it will be nice to get reacquainted with this lovely part of the country again.

We shall leave the town and walk up the path taking the route which passes the activity centre.

There might be a slight muddy patch where we skirt the trees but hopefully this shouldn’t be too bad, provided there is no heavy rainfall, so some walkers might prefer to wear boots.

The walk usually takes 4-5 hrs.

Bring your usual lunch and drink and apres walk drinks can be had in Carlingford

Meet-up:- We shall commence the walk from the main car park in Carlingford at 10.30. The drive from Belfast is usually just over an hour., however, there may be some delays due to the construction of the new Narrow Water bridge, so maybe give yourself some extra time.

If the car park is busy you can also park along the side of the road
