For June’s walk on Sunday 7th June we will be returning to the Mournes, which we haven’t visited for some time.
Meet at Meelmore Lodge at 10.20 for 10.30 am departure.
There are excellent toilet facilities at Meelmore but also a £4 parking charge.
Bring your walking boots, poles and rain gear. It will feel cold on the higher ground, so gloves and a hat are always useful. Remember to pack a picnic lunch.
The route will take us up the Green Rd to the Mourne Wall and Slievenaglogh. We follow the wall to the summit of Slieve Commedagh and then back down to the coll for the lunch break. After which we drop down onto the Brandy Pad to return via the Hare’s Gap and the Trassey track to Meelmore.
This walk provides spectacular 360° views, including the Central Mournes, back towards Dundrum and beyond.
