The Belfast Hills are relatively safe, however, like all hills and walks some precautions and basic equipment are required.
Recommended Equipment – please see the Equipment section for further information on equipment
- Boots
- Waterproof Coat
- Warm Clothes – it is better to wear a number of layers rather than one of two heavy layers, this will allow you to remove layers as you may get too warm during the walk
- Hat and Gloves
- Food and Drink – walkers should bring a packed lunch and their own drinks, we recommend that walkers carry a bottle of water as walks can be very dehydrating. Flasks can also be brought to provide hot drinks whenever we stop for lunch
