On Sunday 1st September we will walk Fairhead Coastal/cliff near Ballycastle.
This walk starts and finishes in a very small car park at Murlough Bay with no facilities,, we shall meet at Hunters Bar in Ballyvoy at 10.30
We will then travel to the start of the walk, which is 1-2 miles from Hunter’s Bar
The walk will be in 2 parts
Part 1 – goes downhill, along the coast before we take a twisting path up through woodland to the top of the escarpment leading back to the car park where we will stop for lunch.
This part of the walk will probably take 2½ to 3 hours
Part 2 – The next part of the walk involves minimal ascents and descents, as we stay on the top of the cliffs, taking an out-and-back walk along the cliff tops at Fair Head. Hopefully, we will get a clear day, as the views of Rathlin and across to Scotland can be stunning.
Meet-up: Hunters Bar, Ballyvoy at 10.30 before we travel in convoy to the car park at the start of the walk.
